Jason Helman Joins the Golf Channels Swing Fix Team of Instructors

So, there I was tweeting away when a direct message came in from the Director of Instruction of the Golf Channel’s Swing Fix,  asking me “Would you like to be one of our instructors on Swingfix? We need pros from Canada and I would love to have you as part of our team.”  I of course replied and said, “yes” and I’m now one of the first PGA of Canada Instructors involved with this amazing effort to grow the game. This platform provides students the ability to take instruction online by reaching out to an instructor of  their choice across North America.  This is a great opportunity for golfers to receive instruction by sending their video in for analysis along with specific drills they can watch to implement proper corrective movement patterns to improve their mechanics or interact with their coach online.  Please feel free to check out the bio below or visit the site at:

Why you should take Golf Lessons Indoors…

Why you should take Lessons Indoors…

The simple fact or reasoning for taking lessons indoors is that you will be less focussed on the outcome or result and more focussed on the process. You’re trying to learn a specific sequence of events in the golf swing. The most important thing golfers’ forget is that they’re actually making a movement which is causing the outcome, not the outcome defining the swing motion. Golf Town’s V1 video analysis system along with my teaching philosophies will help you ascertain what your looking for out of the game. Whether it’s to get better so you can play decent Corporate Golf, Compete against a friend or just beat the golf course, or if you’re just taking up the game it’s a fantastic way to learn new concepts. Lessons are the key to “learning” how to make those brand new clubs work effectively. So, get your game on  at Golf Town with Jason Helman and  load a GIFT CARD up for that next special occasion. Makes a great Christmas Gift.

Hilton Head, here I come…

Well, headed down to Hilton Head with a few members, staying at the Shipyard Golf Club.  I’m looking forward to it as I have never been there before, many other places such as Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Aiken, North Augusta, Atlanta, Athens and a few other great places.  I’m still quite satisfied having the opportunity to experience the East Lake Golf Club.  There wasn’t a $10 million dollar cheque on the 18th green but I felt like 10 million after the experience.  The Bobby Jones history in the clubhouse is absolutely amazing. The staff were unreal and oddly enough a fellow Torontonian works in the shop, small world, big business, small network.

Here is my  article that was published in our Newslink magazine. A very simple article on managing or thinking your way around the course. It’s easier said than done but when you get the hang of it you’ll play better golf.
